SOLUTION SELECTION
The right software is the smallest one that covers your toughest constraint.
We do not resell any licenses. This comparison only commits our reputation.
For a Swiss SME, the choice lies between Crésus, bexio, Odoo, Abacus and WinBIZ. This guide explains what each does well, who it suits, who it doesn't suit, provides three warnings that weigh heavier than the comparison, and six questions to take with you when visiting each publisher. Prices recorded in August 2026 on official pages; market benchmarks, not an offer from LYVIA.
Why almost no one can honestly answer you
Most Romandy service providers are resellers or partners of a publisher. A legitimate model, but a company that lives from the implementation of a product cannot tell you calmly that another would suit you better. We do not sell any software: your subscriptions go directly to the publishers.
THIS IS NOT A RANKING: THERE IS NO BEST SOFTWARE, THERE ARE BUSINESSES THAT DO NOT HAVE THE SAME CONSTRAINTS
Swiss rules come before features: multi-rate VAT, QR-bill, Swiss format payments, Swissdec payroll eliminate candidates before the first screen.
Five products, each clearly stated
Crésus, the Romandy that does three things very well
Self-employed individuals, craftsmen, small SMEs, associations, communities. Certified Swissdec salaries, QR-bill, your trustee knows it. Excluding VAT at the publisher: accounting 600 francs or 20 per month; invoicing 1,100 or 36.65 per month; salaries up to five pay slips 450 or 15 per month. Not for: the company that wants stock, projects, or data exchange between tools.
bexio, the Swiss cloud for small structures
Hosted in Switzerland, four languages, widely used by trustees, automatic bank reconciliation, Swissdec salaries as an add-on. From 35 francs per month (one user) to 119 (twenty-five), steps at 42 and 69; grid revised in March 2026, the old entry at 35 now corresponds to 42. Not for: production, serious stock management, or a workforce beyond the ceiling.
Odoo, the most comprehensive and demanding
Sales, purchases, stock, projects, hours, after-sales service, accounting all in one package. We work with it without being partners or selling licenses. Publisher's price in euros: 24.90 per user per month (Standard), 37.40 (Customized); a Swiss partner offers 19.90 and 29.90 francs. Not for: the artisan with three people, or the company without someone to carry out the project.
Abacus and WinBIZ
Abacus, St. Gallen, the standard of trustees: the deepest expertise in accounting and salaries; financial accounting from 22 francs per month, finance packages from 75, excluding hosting, updates, and services. Not for the artisan with three people. WinBIZ, the Romandy you find everywhere: 74 francs excluding VAT per month and per access (not per company). Replacing it is rarely cost-effective if it does the job; just check what your version allows to be exchanged.
The license price is not the project price.
According to a Swiss integrator, licenses rarely exceed fifteen to twenty percent of the total budget for an Odoo project. Everything else is human work: scoping, configuration, data migration, training.
COMPARING TWO SUBSCRIPTIONS WITHOUT COMPARING THE PROJECTS IS LIKE CHOOSING A CAR BASED ON THE PRICE OF ITS TIRES.
Second pitfall: the payroll module, optional with bexio, by batches of five payslips with Crésus, absent from the standard with some international publishers. A comparison that ignores this is meaningless.
Choose in six questions
Each question eliminates candidates. It's the hardest constraint that decides, not the sum of preferences. Take it with you to each publisher.
Seventh question if you respond to public tenders: the format of your invoices becomes an externally imposed constraint.
What we cannot tell you
Several publishers present in Switzerland do not publish any pricing grid: Sage for Switzerland, Infoniqa, myfactory, Topal. The amounts found online come from resellers or comparators and sometimes contradict each other by a factor of two. We do not use them. When a price does not come from the publisher, we state it or remain silent.
This page is dated on purpose: prices recorded in August 2026, reviewed twice a year. A comparison without a date becomes a lie within twelve months.
Frequently asked questions
What we are often asked
Can you sell us the software you recommend?
No, and it's intentional. You subscribe directly with the publisher or partner of your choice at the public rate; we bill only our work.
Is it mandatory to switch to the cloud?
No. Installed software remains defensible, especially for data control. With backups and hardware included, both models are more similar than one might think.
We hesitate between two products. How do we decide?
By a trial with your own cases: three real invoices, a real pay slip, a real VAT statement. What blocks you will appear in half a day.
Our trustee imposes their software on us. Is this normal?
Common and often reasonable. The problem arises when the tool suits the trustee but not your operation: there are solutions where each party keeps theirs and data flows between them.
How much does your support for choosing cost?
The diagnosis is free. Guiding the choice afterward has a fixed price announced before starting; the deliverable belongs to you, even if you continue without us.
We have nothing to sell you, so we can tell you what we think
The diagnosis is free of charge. We look at what you are using today, what is really holding you back, and we tell you if the problem comes from the tool or how it has been set up.
